The City Deep Terminal covered sixty-five-thousand square meters, and resembles the cargo container-covered, concrete expanse seen at more common seaports, except without the sea.
Train tracks and truck routes run directly through the grounds of the facilities, over which await cranes and other lifting apparatuses to transfer cargo containers off of rail beds, and onto either trucks, or to the container holding yards. A number of empty containers awaiting loading are also stored on site.
On-site administrative buildings house the offices of several large companies that have their goods processed through the City Deep Terminal. Time is money, and logistics is everything; this close physical connection between a company and a major infrastructural nexus ensures that any problems or delays can be dealt with in a timely manner.
