Growing Roots, an agricultural community
Houses are conceived as a do-it-yourself or progressive process. The organization of the basic layout plan takes the typical matchbox house in South Africa with approximately 54 sqm and applies variations to match the users’ progressive necessities. Inhabitants will be able to start their housing projects from a threeroom unit and gradually expand it up to even six rooms using only low-cost and accessible materials: concrete blocks, wooden beams, and metallic sheets.
