Circular Agri-culture

The model of the future

Conventional farming practices in South Africa focus on the land monopolization dedicated to only one type of crop. These practices deplete the regenerative properties of the soil, overexploiting the land and destroying biodiversity.
The project speculates on the creation of agriculture districts or communities, which group different activities on the same plot of land promoting a sustainable and circular farming system. Farms will locate in the Johannesburg peri-urban area facing current land division policies but aiming to achieve food security and promote a resilient city.
