The next four contributions emerge from the analysis of post mining within the Randburg, Rustenburg, Randfontein, Kruger National Park. Shifting from the perspective of a problem to be dealt with, to expose the potential offered by the specific conditions of each site.
Exploring and dealing with these landscapes in the notion of ground from material matter to the fundamentals of new territory. The proposal intervenes, interacts, and/or interjects with the consequence of extraction, toxic soil and water, acid drainage, and dust pollution. Reclamation, restoration, deposition, regeneration, and recreation form the new landscape of the old mining area within and around Johannesburg.
