Power Haulage as the basic transportation in mining activities, it’s accidents always occupy a large percentage of mining accidents in South Africa. The problem that is always ignored by miners and finally leads to fatalities is the blind area of power haulage trucks, because of its tall height and big size.
        Therefore, according to the common power haulage working process: waiting in a queue, loading, hauling, and dumping, becomes the main part of the training course. The training course locates on an abandoned gold tailings. By reusing this indestrial site, miners can start to be familiar with real mining environment and power haulage driving skills before they start mining .
        More detailed precautions can be found in the Mining Safety Manual Page 1-1. To avoid accidents, miners should attract the drivers’ attention and be aware of all the time. In the underground mining spaces, the powered haulage drivers should also watch out for the blind areas for their colleagues, use alarm to warn the miners and focus on reflective traffic signs all the time
