Inmates Interactions

Blyvoor Gold Mine, Carletonville, Johannesburg

The environment within the premises of A.R.C.CA.DI.A and the fields, will provide supportive conditions for the inmates to grow a set of skills that will allow them to reenter the society with better opportunities. Through the knowledge advantage during the preparation courses to the involvement in the plantation and research points, the inmates will gain working experience while executing their sentence. Moreover, the living conditions will enhance the feeling of being part of a community with common goals without any separations between the inmates and limit the difficult conditions that exist in the south african prisons. The use of a typical farm prison as a model will add to the existing situation as a base to create the above setting. The interactions between the inmates will increase their social abilities preparing them for a graduate assimilation to their post-prison life.
