Longterm process

Mooifontein

The reuse of mine waste is nothing new; what has changed, however, is the scale and shape of such debris. Transportation is the major cost, and pollution is the main challenge while dealing with mine waste.

Learning from the mining approach the following characteristics will need to be implemented while redesigning the tailing:
-Chemical composition, including remediation process and its ability to become living spaces
-Stability composition
-Behavior under pressure and consolidation rates
-Erosion stability (wind and water)
-Settling, drying time, and densification behavior after deposition
